About: TASTE of Tippecanoe

The TASTE of Tippecanoe is the major fund raising event for the Tippecanoe Arts Federation (TAF). Proceeds from the TASTE provide educational opportunities in the visual, performing, and literary arts, outreach programs for both underserved communities and at-risk youth, and funding for capital and operational expenses to fellow arts organizations region-wide.

Squirtgun

Melodic Punk Rock (Lafayette, IN)

Depot Stage (2nd & Ferry Streets) 9:30pm – 10:15pm

Squirtgun originally consisted of Mass Giorgini (Bass, Vocals), Matt Hart (Vocals, Guitar), Flav Giorgini (Guitar), and Dan Lumley (Drums), growing out of previous West Lafayette, IN band Rattail Grenadier.

The band signed to Lookout! Records and their first release was the EP Shenanigans, in the Spring of 1995, followed by their self-titled debut album that fall. Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, recommended Squirtgun to Jeff Saltzman, the music advisior for the then-upcoming Kevin Smith film Mallrats. Squirtgun’s song “Social” was featured in the opening credits of Mallrats and appeared on the film’s soundtrack.

In 1996 the band released their second EP, Mary Ann, a tribute to the character from Gilligan’s Island. A video was filmed for the title track, and featured an appearance from Mary Ann herself, actress Dawn Wells. The video was released in the Spring of 1997 and shown on MTV’s 120 Minutes and put into regular rotation on MTV2.

Squirtgun’s second full-length, Another Sunny Afternoon, was also released in the Spring of ’97. Several songs from Another Sunny Afternoon were featured in major motion pictures and TV shows, including “Come On Let’s Go” in The Extreme Adventures of Super Dave, “You’re the Greatest” on Fox Television Network’s Clueless sitcom, “My Jeannette” in the Disney film My Date with the President’s Daughter and “Hey Louise” in the Disney film Alley Cats Strike. FREE Safety Alerts + Twitter to Keep TASTE-goers Informed

Thanks to AMG Alerts, TASTE organizers will use a color coded text alert system to keep attendees informed if the weather gets hairy.

The TASTE of Tippecanoe is a rain or shine event, but operations have had to be suspended in the past because of lightning or wind. However, operations have also safely resumed after these occurrences. You’re using your hard-earned money to gain admission to the TASTE and help the Tippecanoe Arts Federation Grow the Arts. We want to make it more-than-worth your while.

Whether you’re at the TASTE, on your way to the TASTE, or on the fence about attending… STAY INFORMED.

Sign up for FREE text/email alerts on the SAFETY Page. (Pssst: we don’t keep your information. The list is cleared after the TASTE)

Also, alert messaging will be shared via @TASTETippecanoe on Twitter. How about a follow? #ItsALLGood!

Pedestrian Bridge Closed for TASTE

Access to the TASTE of Tippecanoe will be limited to Downtown Lafayette

Due to construction, the John T Meyers Pedestrian Bridge (that links Lafayette and West Lafayette *for folks on foot*) will be closed for the TASTE.

There will not be access to the TASTE from the bridge and it will not be available as a place to view the 2015 FIREWORKS.

Please plan to access the TASTE from one of our 4 Gates in Downtown Lafayette.

It is free to park in the City of Lafayette and Tippecanoe County Parking Garages (where indicated) and, of course, on the street.

The DEPOT STAGE and TASTEtogether Area will be prime spots for viewing the FIREWORKS.

For more location info, check out the MAP!!
